At Risk - I train staff of youth-serving organizations to enhance their effectiveness in serving youth, and to facilitate stress reduction and the development of emotional competence. I can customize trainings for the specific needs of an organization, addressing any of a wide variety of aspects of mindfulness, emotion regulation, well-being, and working with highly at-risk youth.

The assumption that youth at-risk are incapable of learning and/or do not care
about anything is a fallacy. The truth of the matter is our youth do care and they want
and can learn. They long for adults who are willing to make the effort to understand
them and who will provide them the acceptance and guidance they need. If one is
patient and looks hard and deep enough, they will understand that the at-risk child’s message is this - “Don’t give up on me.” Mindfulness teaches youth to be become empowered and awaken to their true potential. The curriculum is also tailored to meet the cultural needs of the individual students. Some of the organizations that I have worked with in the past are:

Youth Horizon –San Francisco
Mind Body Awareness Project - Oakland
West Oakland Middle school - Oakland
Met West High School – Oakland
Juvenile Hall – San Leandro
East Bay meditation Center - Oakland
