A Fierce Heart Daylong for People of Color
Finding strength, courage, and wisdom in any moment is the theme of this special day. We invite all self-identified people of color to gather for a daylong of inspiration, community, love, and renewal. A book signing will follow.
This is a traditional Insight Meditation (vipassana) retreat with sitting and walking in silence, and regular meetings with teachers. We will mark the turning of the year with a late evening sitting and simple ceremony on New Year's Eve. In celebration of the New Year, our focus will be on cultivating loving awareness and embracing each moment as fresh and new. All are welcome.

Details: "A women in harmony with her spirit is like a river flowing. She goes where she will go without pretense, and arrives at her destination prepared to be herself, and only herself."
How do we live balanced, embodied, meaningful lives amid the complexities of our lives as contemporary women? How do we meet our ever-changing bodies with acceptance, love, and a sense of humor? How do we respond wisely to our current social and environmental realities that call for our unique contribution?
We all need nourishing spaces to slow down and listen to the wisdom of our bodies-so we can grow into the wise, wild, present, and joyful women that the world desperately needs. Join a diverse circle of women for a retreat that integrates a seamless flow of mindfulness meditation in both movement and in stillness. We will consciously create a nourishing space for women of all races, sizes, ages, sexual identities, religions and classes to dive into the depths of our individual and collective rivers. We'll honor the lineages of awakened women as we sit and move in a circle of sisters, grandmothers, mothers, and daughters.
Seated meditation will alternate with periods of qigong, gentle yoga, and guided movement explorations--releasing habitual tension and returning us to the river of love, awareness, and wisdom that is our birthright. We learn to sustain an unbroken flow of embodied mindfulness in a durable and flexible way that translates directly to our daily lives. Through stilling the mind and moving the body freely, we awaken a well-spring of power and energy so we can return to the world as our full selves. All those who identify as women are welcome.

I have witnessed many miracles over the last 8 years and it's time I shared this beautiful work with others. If you feel called please join me!
The potential exists in every human being to love without defenses or fear, so that true intimacy – direct, unobstructed, heart-to-heart connection with ourselves and others – becomes a way of life. We can learn to share, one heart to another, through the power of unconditional love. We can become more whole in ourselves so that we can be energized and empowered on our paths. Barriers to authentic connection occur due to unconscious fears that are rooted in the past. This workshop will provide safe, nurturing space to explore those fears and barriers. The workshop will include powerful interactive group processes, periods of meditation, sacred music, movement, and group discussion.
This silent retreat will focus on cultivating the quality of loving kindness (Metta in Pali), infusing our hearts, minds and bodies with a strong caring wisdom. Mindful presence and loving-kindness are essential to living a spiritual life. Awareness as developed through mindfulness practice leads to clarity, insight and understanding.
Dharma practice offers us a way to develop a deep and abiding freedom beyond external conditions and changing circumstances. In this silent, intensive meditation retreat, we will be practicing sitting and walking meditation as well as cultivating mindfulness in our daily activities. Our practice will be supported by dharma talks, yoga practice, group meetings and Q & A with teachers. We will have a special focus on the theme of self love, healing and liberation.

Learning to let go and live in the moment is at the very heart of the spiritual path. Everything can be summed up into these two words, “Let go”. We long for serenity but this only comes from making peace with the past. To transform our lives we have to be willing to say goodbye to the old chains and prisons, and step into the light.

All self-identified women are welcome. Feminine wisdom is on the rise everywhere, and yet many of us feel held back and unable to express our deepest truth. Now is the time to gather together to reclaim our traditions, our voices and our hearts. We are intentionally calling all mothers, sisters, daughters and grandmothers to join in creating a powerful council of women to not only laugh but also to cry and speak the truth of our sacred longings with one another.
